Holistic Approach to Skin Care

Women spend hundreds of dollars on commercial skin care products that promise youth without ever considering that  diet, exercise, meditation are key factors to healthy glowing youthful skin.
The standard North American diet is loaded with toxins, is highly acidic and for the most part has very little nutritional value. If we want our skin to look healthy we need to start from the inside out, the skin is the largest organ in the body and it is the body’s way of releasing toxins through the pores. If we are consuming the wrong foods, too much alcohol, not enough pure alkaline water, and very little exercise (sweating is important to release toxins) we are probably experiencing some kind of skin issues. Meat and dairy products back up the digestive system slowing it down as these hard to digest foods sit in the large intestine for a long time causing putrefaction and before passing through. Many people do not drink enough water to flush toxins through the system, to keep the cells hydrated for optimum cellular function and the result is poor health, poor skin conditions like acne or dead, grey, dry wrinkled looking skin hair and eyes and of course a lack of vitality that will eventually lead to degenerative disease.
Health is really quite basic, eat pure living plant based foods including spirulina and chlorella, consume EVOO, virgin coconut oil, hemp hearts and avocado, drink plenty of pure spring water or alkaline purified water, exercise, sauna, get plenty of rest and fresh air, connect to the earth with your bare feet (grounding really helps neutralize harmful EMFs, during stress and feelings of disconnect) limit or emit alcohol consumption and if you drink coffee be sure to replenish water as these dehydrate the body. I recommend for every cup of coffee or alcoholic beverage you consume drink the same amount of water.
Starting the day with meditation and prayer will help calm the mind and bring ease to tension. When we are tense and under stress our skin is affected along with all the other organs and systems in the body. Eating the wrong foods puts stress on the body, as do emotions like anxiety, worry, anger and grief. In fact as we eat more pure plant based foods we will bring balance to the endocrine system which will in turn affect our moods and ability to deal with outside stressors.

By following a simple daily routine of self-care and nurturing we can restore the body’s balance and this inner balance will shine through our skin making us not only feel amazing but look amazing and slow down the aging process! Go ahead and throw out all those toxic chemical laden commercial products and clean up your lifestyle…you’ll not only save a ton of money but you’ll save your life.

Thanks for this great post:)….after reading this i see why i’m probably having skin problems .my face feels so rough and dry at times..I love my coffee but drink plenty of water throughout the day so i’m guessing it has to be my lack of exercise..to get rid of the toxins in my body .need to seriously work on that..

  2. Thanks for the feedback Jacky. Maybe try some cleansing if you haven’t already, our livers get taxed with all the toxins in our environment and from foods, including organic food. A good cleanse each season should clear up the skin. Blessings and Namaste
