Thriving Mostly Raw is On Tour

On the road, travelling, experiencing ADVENTURE! living in community, participating in organic gardening, sustainable eco development practices and loving life.

I pulled myself out of my security and comfort in the city of Vancouver Canada and decided to travel and live in nature something I have been craving for a very long time. For the moment I have Landed at the Hillhouse Farm in Nelson BC to live, share and learn a few things! 🙂

Here are a few photos of what I have been up to the past week, which seems like a year…

Making bricks for the new building going up at the Hillhouse Farm which will house a green house for winter gardening, workshop space, large kitchen and bedrooms. The bricks are made from a combination of clay sawdust and sand.

The brick stacked for drying. Takes three weeks for them to dry and they are heavy to lift and stack. No need for a gym with this kind of work… so much fun being a part of this project and learning how it’s all done. The timber frame is fir and it is designed without the use of nails and screws all toungue and groove…like a puzzle. Built to last 200 years.
