Arsenal for a Strong Immune System in These Shifting Times

ganoderma

Our immune systems are constantly under attack from stress, pollution, Chem-Trails (which are a direct attack on the immune system resulting in flu like symptoms and upper respiratory ailments that just don’t go away) GMO foods, contaminated-chlorinated-fluoridated water supply, the use of chemical products in the environment as well as household cleaners, perfumes, cosmetics, personal products, deodorants, shampoo, toothpaste, pharmaceuticals,  off gassing from glues, carpets, paint, plastic shower curtains, unnatural clothing fibre, mattresses, bedding, EMF’s and more. We live in a sea of chemical pollutants that take a toll on our immune system over time and unless we have been cleansing and combating these attacks the toxins are accumulated in the tissues of our bodies compromising our immune system leading to all kinds of chronic infections, painful joints, illness and diseases like cancer, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, chronic fatigue…you get the point.

What are our options if we want to protect our bodies giving them a chance at maintaining vibrant health? The first thing to consider is cleaning up the diet. Eating whole foods in their natural state (preferably 70% in the raw state) avoiding ALL processed foods including meats, dairy, sugar, wheat, rice and other grains, alcohol. It sounds radical for many I know but if you really want to be strong, delay aging and have vibrant energy in this current time it is necessary to step up to a very high level of lifestyle choice.
Our ancestors did not have to deal with all the poisons we do today, they also did not eat denatured food over packaged in plastic heated in a microwave nor did they eat McDonalds.
Once you have altered your diet and are eating clean you can begin to go deeper into cleansing by taking some herbs and other cleansing aids. By changing your diet you will have already started the cleansing process and it is a natural progression to begin a herbal/plant based cleansing regime. If you have never cleansed the best place to start is with a colon cleanse.
Cleansing allows the body to rid itself of toxins and activates it’s ability to heal itself and to reset its PH balance (pH should be 7.5). The standard north american diet is highly acidic and an acidic body is a breeding ground for cancer. Toxins are accumulative, stored in our fat cells (one of the contributing factors to obesity in North America) and can only be released by cleansing…the by product is weight loss! Bonus points for cleansing!
By simply adding freshly squeezed lemon and cayenne to your morning glass of warm water you are raising your pH as well as starting the cleansing process. One can vegetable juice fast, water fast with pure filtered or spring water (not recommended for more than a few days and not for beginners), another option is herbal cleansing formulas that can be taken for a period of 7-21 days. The general rule of thumb for cleansing is 4 times a year at the season changes. If that is overwhelming cleanse 2 times a year and even once is better than never. The key here is to start slow, experiment and figure out what works for your body, learn to listen to what your body is trying to tell you with its symptoms and reactions.

Super foods and Magical Mushrooms!! 🙂
Another thing to consider in ongoing preventative care is consuming super foods and medicinal plants. As mentioned eating clean, cleansing on a regular basis are the first steps to resorting health. The following medicinal mushrooms and super foods/algae should be added to your daily diet and are safe to take several times per day. These medicinal mushrooms have adaptogenic properties (helps the body deal with stress) that help fight against cancer, auto immune disease and prevent oxidative stress.
Chaga, considered the King of all the adaptogenic mushrooms has the ability to boost immunity, is anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-microbial, anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory, anti-tumororigenic, reduces cholesterol, provides essential minerals and vitamins, reduces and prevents the effects of radiation.
Reishi, the Queen, another adapotgen it is used to treat asthma, lower blood pressure, restore balance in the body, is an immune stimulant, is high in calcium phosphorous, zinc, iron as well as other minerals and vitamins.
Cordycepts, an adaptogenic fungus used in chinese medicine that is antibacterial, anti-tumor antioxidant, antiviral, immune stimulant, lowers high cholesterol, liver, lung, nerve, kidney tonic, reduces affects of stress, combats lung problems, blood cancers, lymphoma, lowers blood pressure.
There are other medicinal mushrooms like shiitake and maitake to add to your diet but these are the most powerful in preventing illness and protecting your body from environmental pollution.
These plants can be taken as tinctures/extracts, powder, capsules. My preference is to take tinctures under the tongue 3-5 times per day.
Superfoods for detox and prevention
Camu Camu– native to south American rainforest the bush produces a super-fruit with more vitamin C than any other known botanical source. 1/2 teaspoon provides 380 grams of vitamin C. It also has an impressive array of other vitamins, minerals and antioxidants that help the body absorb the abundant vitamin C making this super fruit my favourite source of C.
Cocao– raw form of chocolate with maximum nutrient content, it is processed at low temperature and therefore it retains more nutrition than roasted cocoa. Cocoa is an abundant source of hard to get magnesium, antioxidants and iron.
Chlorella– fresh water green micro-algae, a whole food high in protein, all the essential B vitamins, C and E source of all the major minerals, helps break down metallic toxins, strengthens immune system, detoxifies and neutralizes poisons and other toxic substances including radiation, balances pH, normalizes blood sugar. Can be taken in powder or small pills add it to your smoothies for additional nutrition.
Spirulina, fresh water blue green algae, contains 60-70% complete protein, photo-nutrients, chlorophyll, minerals and vitamins, GLA, linoleic acid, vitamin B12, high in beta carotene (vitamin A), omega fatty acids, nucleic acids RNA & DNA, anti oxidants, protects the immune system, lowers cholesterol, balances pH, has detoxification properties, has anti microbial effects
that help inhibit the growth of pathogenic bacteria and yeasts, and is anti aging. Spirulina is a nutrient dense super food you could survive on. Available in powder or tablets same as chlorella.
Probiotics– from fermented foods such as sauerkraut, kombucha, miso will enhance immunity, help fight viruses, infections, aid in detoxification, digestive issues and candida.
Detoxing Heavy Metals
Following is a list of supplements I recommend to purge the body of heavy metals. These can be taken on a regular basis and during your cleansing process. Whenever I feel my body is off and experience brain fog and/or tired sore body/joints/muscles it is an indicator that I am in need of
detoxing heavy metals.
Bentonite Clay, is a very affordable sedimentary clay composed of aged volcanic ash. Bentonite clay has a negative charge when activated by hydration. The clay swells and becomes a porous sponge that has the ability to pull out Heavy metals (positively charged ions) from the tissues of the body. It can be used both externally and internally.
For external use make a clay pack on the entire body allowing it to dry. Then wash off in shower and re-hydrate skin with coconut oil.
For internal use, mix 1 tbsp in a glass of water, let sit to hydrate and then drink. To avoid getting backed up add chia to your mix or take a glass of psyllium husk. If you eat a high fiber vegan diet of mostly raw foods you will not have any problem with the clay causing constipation but it is a good idea anyways to add some chia or psyllium to err on the side of caution. You will also
need to replenish your minerals and probitotics each time you use bentonite clay as it will pull out minerals and friendly bacteria.

Zeolites, are natural volcanic minerals and are one of the few negatively charged minerals found in nature. The benefits of using zeolites although it can be more pricey than clay is that they capture and remove heavy metals from the body without removing healthy ions and minerals. Helps to balance the bodies pH to healthy levels. Zeolites are easy and safe to take.

Fulvic Acid Minerals, mineral supplement that comes from humic acid with more than 70 chelated trace minerals that contain ionic charges providing thousands of electrical charges which support the bodies basic functions.
Iodine, for thyroid function protects from radioactive iodine being released from the reactors in Fukushima. Balances thyroid function for proper weight management. 2 to 3 drops in water of Luegols Iodine  taken  once per day
